Body obsession
I am listening to "the eyes of truth" by Enigma. While you may not know them, you have probably heard some of their stuff. A lot of their stuff has been used in movies and TV programs. This current song was used in the worldwide trailer for The matrix (The first one). The part that was used in the trailer is coming up as i type this and i will have to pause when it gets there hold on......that was lip smackingly good. The rest of the track is ok but that minute is the best thing about it. So if you dont know them, check them out you may like it or you may think that they suck ass in which case fair enough.
Interesting debate on the times website titled: Are women obsessed about their bodies?
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,564-2090885,00.html
Yes and no IMO. I have known women who check the calorie content on a mars bar b4 eating it and i know others who are probably not aware that there is a calorie count on the packet.
Current trend is to blame the media for imposing impossible standards on women. However i have to disagree in part with this.
While it is true that the media says to women that they must be a certain size and must always use make-up, they do not force women to do either of these things. There is no point in complaining about it if you'll end up doing what they say anyways.
A lot of women moan about these things and then spend an hour putting make-up on before they go out. Others count the calories on practically everything that they eat. Perhaps i am in the minority but i find it refreshing to see a girl without make-up and advise my girlfriend to spend as less time as possible putting any on. She goes without any sometimes but not as often as i'd like. I think she's gorgeous and i should know as i have seen her naked infact as i type this, she sleeps naked a few feet from me.
I think its a good thing to just eat without being too conscious of how much calories one is consuming. For dinner, we had meals from burger king with fries and a good sized drink to go with it. I think women should eat what they want but in moderation. If you eat a doner kebab with chips everyday, you will gain weight and mess your general health up in the long run.
On ledemure's blog (the post with the cute teal panties), someone said she was getting quite chubby. I think she is very beautiful and has a gorgeous body. That kind of comment from some men coupled with the media's bullshit is what makes some women become too conscious about their weight. Thankfully she didnt take it to heart and told him where to stick it. My advice is to use the BMI index if you are unsure.
According to the BMI index, my healthy weight range is between 60-80 kg. That is quite a range and makes loads of room for a burger or a doner kebab if one feels like it.
By buying magazines and such that keep on about losing weight and looking like a goddess using the latest make-up, women are continuing the vicious cycle. It is up to them to break the cycle; the media will not cos they are profiting handsomely by keeping women perpetually unsatisfied.
It is worth mentioning that my girlfriend has put on weight in the last year or so. I am quite pleased by this as she's more erm...fleshy i suppose. What was once a great arse is now a magnificently great arse :-)))) plus the BMI index says she is healthy.
And on a lighter note, I am now listening to Jaheim - Could it be.
