Life and Bread

Its officially friday now. This means that it has been a week - my longest gap yet - since i last blogged. Kind of weird as at various times in the past week, i was certain i'd post a thing or two. One week later and here we are, i am finally posting something.

I like the public transport system in London. I think its a great way to get around and you get to see all kinds of people from the weird and wonderful to the bizarre and even annoying. Today on the way to work we had to stand for a bit while the driver and some dude argued. Basically the driver was trying to explain to the guy that his oyster card hadnt been debited and the guy wasnt having it. A nice woman offered to pay his fare (£1.50) to end it all but the guy turned her down. In the end he walked off the bus with his lady friend still on the bus. I have always wanted to offer to pay someone's fare and as yet have not done so. Hopefully i will get a chance someday.

Anyways the guy walks off and this guy and girl who had been standing pretty much next to me start talking semi-loudly. They were talking about him possibly becoming a male escort and the conversation moved on to outfits. My particular favourite was when she said "you'd be surprised what i can fit into". She was speaking of a pink leather suit, a sort of catwoman kind of outfit. I also learned that as a student he was quite broke a lot of the time and was now used to not having breakfast or even lunch principally due to a lack of funds. She kindly suggested that he buys bread and eats it over a couple of days. According to him "you get bored of bread after a while dont you". I have to agree with him on that one. Many years ago i was broke a lot of the time and bread became a staple diet. Special thanks to Tesco and their bread wars with the other Supermarkets for ensuring we always had plenty of the stuff. The novelty soon wore of but we continued to buy and eat the stuff as we were too broke at the time. Aahh those were the days.

What is it about the past that makes us remember it with fondness. At the time it wasnt too much fun but now i can look back on that time with a bit of fondness and in a much light-hearted manner. Sometimes i look back on my experiences and it seems like it all happened in another galaxy far far away. It gets to the point where i sometimes even begin to think if those things ever happened at all. Here's to life, the experiences and fetish wear conversations on buses.
